2024 Sequoyah Book List has been Posted!
With this award, Oklahoma honors the Native American leader Sequoyah, for his unique achievement in creating the Cherokee syllabary. Sequoyah chose eighty-five symbols to represent all spoken sounds of the Cherokee language. In so doing, he created a way to preserve his people's language and culture.
The Sequoyah Book Award is a set of three annual awards for books selected by a vote of Oklahoma students in elementary, middle, and high schools
Put on those lab coats and head on down to the Miami Public Library on July 14th for a Mad Science Artsplosion! This season, Mad Science blends the magic of science and visual art with eye-popping results. We will learn about wearable technology, artificial intelligence, and scientific contributions to the history of art! A program fit for young Da Vincis and the young at heart! Our Summer Reading Pool Party is this Saturday, July 12th! Anyone participating in our summer reading challenge is welcome to attend.
